Bethannie Cooper

Bethannie joined Westkin Law in January 2023 as an SRA regulated Solicitor. She was admitted to the role of solicitors on 19 January 2022.

After graduating from Nottingham Trent University, with a Bachelor of Laws and Criminology (Honours) in 2015, Bethannie began practising areas of immigration law covered by Legal Aid.

She obtained her Level 2 accreditation with the Law Society in August 2016 and specialised in representing asylum seekers, victims of modern slavery and trafficking, and appeal work.

In 2019, Bethannie began working on private matters and had gained experience in a wide range of areas such as complex family and partner related cases, with a particular interest in adult dependant relative applications and human rights. She also has experience in detention and bail, and deportation challenges.

During the following two years, Bethannie successfully completed her training contract and graduated from the University of Law in 2021, with a distinction in the Legal Practice Course and a combined Master’s Degree in immigration law focusing on the assessment of credibility for asylum seekers.

Since Bethannie has joined our firm, she has gained further experience in Points Based System applications and sponsor licences. She continues to work on complex immigration matters.

Her interests outside of work are hiking, reading and yoga.
