Gilbert Macnaughton

Gilbert joined the merry band at Westkin Associates in April 2024, bringing along a suitcase packed with professional and academic expertise in immigration law.

Having originally studied history as an undergraduate, he completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at BPP University School of Law in 2018. He then graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a Master of Laws in Immigration Law in 2019, before being called to the Bar in June 2022 after completing the Bar Professional Training Course.

Gilbert is a member of Diane Azzam’s team and handles a cornucopia of cases. He has particular expertise in British nationality law, and a wealth of experience in family visas, work visas, human rights applications, asylum claims, appeals and litigation.

Gilbert grew up in Italy, went to art school and briefly worked as a sculptor. He loves art history and can be regularly found in galleries and museums. He also enjoys writing short stories, travelling, going to the theatre and watching football.
