  • Investor Visa applicants are required to hold the equivalent of £2 million in any jurisdiction so long as those funds can be transferred to the United Kingdom. Once the visa is granted those funds need to be invested in UK investments, which we can advise on if needed.
  • Investor Visa Applicants are permitted to bring spouses and children under 18 into the UK as dependents. As they will pay the NHS surcharge which is currently £200 a year, they can also use the NHS.
  • These dependents will get permanent residency at the same time as the main applicant if they qualify.
  • Main applicants and Dependents must remain in the UK for 180 days per year if they want to obtain permanent residency.
  • Applicants and Dependents can work, study and undertake business in the UK whilst they are on the Investor Visa.

UK Immigration Frequently asked Questions

The UK Tier 1 Investor visa is not currently suspended and is open for new applications, extensions and indefinite leave application. The visa was suspended for around 4 days in December 2018 and some changes were made to the visa in March 2019.
The UK Investor visa, sometimes referred to as the Golden Visa has not been cancelled and can be applied for by all applicants whom can meet the requirements. The rules were updated with some small changes on the 29th March 2019.
To qualify for a Tier 1 UK Investor visa, the applicant must have £2 million GBP available in cash for investment in to the UK. The legal fees for an UK investor visa vary on a case-by-case basis depending on the complexity of the case as well as the number of applicants.
Processing times for the Tier 1 Investor visa vary from country to country. Applications from most countries take around 14 working days. If there is an option to pay for priority service then the visa can be granted in 5 working days. For those applying from inside the UK there is a Super-Premium service that takes 24 hours.

For migrants whom are applying after the 29th March 2019, the current approve investment options are either;

  • 1. Investment by shares in a UK trading company, or
  • 2. Investment by Loan capital in a UK trading company, or
  • 3. a mixture of both.

Investments can be made in to any size of company, including publicly listed and private companies.

To get a UK Investor visa you must demonstrate that you have £2 million pounds available for investment in to the UK. These funds must in your own own bank account and in cash. You must also be able to show the source of your funds along with some other technical requirements.
